The Yardmaster is in charge of everything that happens within the Yard Limits
Primary Duties
- Coordinates all inbound & outbound train movements within Yard Limits
- Directs the activities of the Hostler
- Performs yard switching as needed
- Clears the arrival tracks and breaks down trains in a timely manner
- Assembles outbound trains and readies them for departure per switchlists
- Assumes the role of Hostler and/or Power Desk if needed
Requirements for Qualification Basic Throttle operations: Start/Stop, Foward/Reverse, Headliight Operations, Emergency Stop Demonstrate knowledge of all yard trackage and yard operations Must know and understand the Operating Rules Serve as Yardmaster for 3 sessions
